Before you build, the usual questions.
Do I need a flat surface?
Ideally yes. If your ground is flat and level, the enclosure sits directly on it. On an angle? You can either level the ground yourself or use Catnip timber surrounds to create a level base.
Do I need any special tools?
For a standard enclosure, no. The fastening pliers and clips you need come in the box, and the panels just clip together. If you're adding a tunnel or fixing your enclosure to a wall or post, keep your own snips handy for cutting the mesh to fit, and a drill for the fixings. The printed instructions walk you through it.
Can one person do it, or do I need a hand?
Most setups are a comfortable one-person job. For the larger backyard builds, a second pair of hands makes holding panels while you clip them a bit easier and quicker.
Can I add to it later?
That's the whole idea. Catnip is modular. Start with one enclosure, add tunnels, exit boxes and accessories whenever you like. The panels and clips from every era still connect.
Right, let's get them outside.
Pick a kit that fits your space, or start from scratch in the builder. Either way, it turns up ready to go.
